  1. (transitive) to say, tell (partitive/accusative "something", elative "about something", allative "to (someone)")
    Sanoiko hän sen?
    Did she say it?
    Sanoiko hän siitä mitään?
    Did she say anything about it?
  2. (transitive + partitive + translative) to call (name or refer to)
    Häntä sanottiin Pekaksi.
    He was called Pekka.
