  2. (auxiliary + illative of the third infinitive) to begin, start, start out, start off (often with more contrast than mennä, alkaa, ryhtyä etc.)

  3. (of a stain, shirt button, fur, hair, etc.) to come out, come off, shed, fall out
  4. to come from, stem (from), originate (from) (+ elative)
